Wettbewerbsaufgabe
Um den Bedarf an Wasserflächen für den obligatorischen Schwimmunterricht im Schulkreis Waidberg zu decken, soll im ehemaligen Kesselhaus des Elektrizitätswerks der Stadt Zürich (ewz) an der Wasserwerkstrasse 107 eine Schulschwimmanlage (SSA) eingebaut werden. Das ehemalige Kesselhaus wird nicht mehr für die Erfüllung des Versorgungsauftrags des ewz benötigt und wurde ins Verwaltungsvermögen von Immobilien Stadt Zürich (IMMO) übertragen. Die Liegenschaft liegt rechtsufrig an der Limmat und ist im Inventar der kunst- und kulturhistorischen Schutzobjekte von kommunaler Bedeutung aufgeführt. Die SSA wird in erster Linie den umliegenden Schulen dienen. Neben der Wasserfläche gehören ein Aufsichtsraum, sowie Garderoben und Nebenräume zum Raumprogramm. Die Schulschwimmhalle verfügt zudem über ein Lernschwimmbecken, welches mit einem Hubboden auszustatten ist. Das Ziel besteht darin, eine Schulschwimmanlage mittels Haus-in-Haus Lösung reversibel in die inventarisierte Liegenschaft an der Wasserwerkstrasse 107 einzubauen.
