Die Ergebnisse des Brick Award 24 werden Ende Juni in Baunetzwoche#648 präsentiert. Alle 50 nominierten Projekte, darunter auch vier aus Deutschland, kann man bereits auf der Webseite des Preises sehen.

Diese Woche wird zum elften Mal der Brick Award verliehen. Mit dem internationalen Preis zeichnet der Tonbaustoff-Hersteller Wienerberger seit 2004 Ziegelarchitektur aus. Im Rahmen des diesjährigen Brick Awards organisiert das Unternehmen am morgigen Freitag, 7. Juni 2024 im Wiener MAK – Museum für angewandte Kunst das Symposium „Sustainable Horizons: Advancing Architecture through Scalable Innovations“. Dabei soll erörtert werden, welchen Materialien und Bauweisen angesichts globaler Urbanisierungsprozesse die Zukunft gehört.

Vier internationale Architekt*innen wurden eingeladen, um Keynotes zu halten: Boonserm Premthada (Bangkok Project Studio aus Bangkok), Jennifer Beningfield (Openstudio Architects aus London), Jens Linnet (BOGL aus Kopenhagen) und Gabriela Carrillo (Mexiko-Stadt). Die vier Architekt*innen und ihre Büros decken mit ihrer Arbeit ein breites Spektrum an klimatischen und kulturellen Hintergründen ab. Moderiert wird das Symposium von Kunsthistorikerin Veronica Hejdelind. Die Vorträge können auch im Livestream verfolgt werden.
